Pediatric Massage in the Clinical Setting is a unique hybrid of lecture and hands-on application of skills.
We will spend 2 days introducing and reviewing the essential considerations of working with the pediatric population to prepare for the last 2 days of the course which will find us bringing those skills to actual patients in the hospital setting who are living, and dying, with the very diseases and conditions we’ll learn about in the first 2 days.
About the Instructors
Lauren Cates and Lucille Eddy have been working as massage therapists in the hospital setting since 2005. As the directors of Healwell’s hospital-based education and service programs they have spent thousands of hours providing continuing education and hands-on therapies with both pediatric and adult populations. They bring experience working with pediatric palliative care patients ranging from primary chromosomal abnormalities to advanced and complicated diseases like Tay-Sachs, sickle cell anemia and cancer. There is no patient that is too frail to be touched by a person with the right training…and Lucille and Lauren will provide you with that training when you participate in this course.
